Connecting Remote and Temporary Sites With IPsec

Construction sites, pop-up stores and event venues need secure connectivity fast. IPsec over any internet link delivers it.

The challenge

A construction project office, a seasonal store or an event venue needs access to corporate systems — but ordering a private circuit takes too long and costs too much for a short life.

The solution

Install a router with an internet connection (broadband or mobile) and build an IPsec tunnel to the nearest Peer1IX edge location. The site joins your private network securely.

Policy at the hub

Apply firewall rules at the hub — with FWaaS if needed — so temporary sites only reach what they need.

Templates

Use a standard router configuration for temporary sites so setup is quick and consistent.

Tear down cleanly

When the site closes, remove the tunnel and revoke credentials.
