The origin problem
Placing a CDN or reverse proxy in front of a website hides it from many attacks. But if attackers find the origin server’s IP address, they can bypass the proxy.
Private connectivity helps
When traffic between the provider and your origin travels over a private interconnect, your origin does not need a public-facing address for that traffic.
Lock it down
Configure origin firewalls to accept traffic only from the private interconnect or from verified provider sources.
Faster cache misses
Requests for uncached content travel to the origin over a predictable path, improving response times.
Getting started
If your origin infrastructure is on Peer1IX — in an Edge Data Center or connected by a port — a private interconnect can be added as another service.
