The basics
Cloudflare Network Interconnect (CNI) is a way to connect your network directly and privately to Cloudflare, rather than reaching it over the public internet.
Who uses it
Organisations that rely on Cloudflare network services — for example to protect their IP ranges from DDoS attacks or to build a cloud-delivered WAN — use CNI to carry traffic between Cloudflare and their infrastructure over a private path.
Why private matters
When Cloudflare forwards clean traffic back to your network, or when your sites send traffic into Cloudflare, a private interconnect gives more predictable performance and reduces exposure to the internet.
How Peer1IX fits
Peer1IX makes Cloudflare Network Interconnect available from your Peer1IX port. Instead of arranging separate connectivity, you add the interconnect as another service on the fabric.
Requirements
You need a Cloudflare account with the relevant services. Our team helps coordinate the connection details.
