Why partners need private links
Banks exchange data with payment processors. Retailers integrate with logistics firms. Insurers connect to hospitals. Many of these flows involve sensitive data or strict reliability needs, so organisations prefer private connectivity over the public internet.
The traditional bottleneck
Ordering a dedicated circuit to each partner takes time — sometimes months — and each one adds cost and complexity.
The hub approach
If both organisations are on the Peer1IX fabric, a private connection between them is a virtual circuit. It can be set up quickly, sized to need and isolated from all other traffic.
Control and security
Each partner connection is a separate VLAN. You can apply firewall policy, route filtering and monitoring per partner. When a relationship ends, removing access is a configuration change rather than a decommissioning project.
Building a partner ecosystem
Over time, as more of your partners connect to the fabric, your hub becomes a private extranet: a single, controlled place where your business relationships meet.
Invite your partners to Peer1IX or ask us which of them are already connected.
