Built for smaller networks
Micro PoPs exist to make interconnection practical for local operators who could never justify a link to a distant metro exchange. The onboarding process is designed to be light.
Step 1: Check the basics
You need your own ASN and IP space to peer. If you do not have them yet, our team can explain the process with the registries.
Step 2: Pick your nearest Micro PoP
Choose the site closest to where your network aggregates subscriber traffic. Shorter fibre means lower cost and fewer points of failure.
Step 3: Get fibre to the site
Most local ISPs run their own fibre or lease a short link to the Micro PoP. If you need help, we can suggest local options.
Step 4: Configure your port and BGP
You receive addresses on the peering LAN. Bring up sessions with both route servers, apply sensible filters and verify routes with our looking glass.
Step 5: Watch traffic move
Traffic to networks and caches at the Micro PoP and on the wider fabric now flows directly. Port graphs show how much leaves your transit links.
Step 6: Grow
As subscribers grow, upgrade your port or add private connections to key partners.
