Why Every Network Should Be in PeeringDB

PeeringDB is where networks look each other up before peering. Keeping your record accurate brings more and faster peering.

What PeeringDB is

PeeringDB is a free, community-maintained database of networks, exchanges and data centers. Engineers use it to find who is present where and how to contact them.

What to include

  • Your ASN, organisation and website.
  • Policy type and link.
  • Exchange points and facilities, including your Peer1IX ports.
  • Suggested IPv4 and IPv6 max-prefix values.
  • Your IRR as-set.
  • NOC, policy and technical contacts.

Automation depends on it

Many networks and exchanges use PeeringDB data to generate sessions and filters. Accurate data means fewer manual steps.

Keep it updated

Update your record when you join a new exchange, change contacts or grow your prefix count.
