Temporary Bandwidth for Migrations and Events

Some network needs last weeks, not years. How on-demand virtual circuits handle migrations, launches and events without long contracts.

When needs spike

Moving a data center to the cloud, launching a new product or covering a big event can require far more bandwidth than normal — for a few weeks. Ordering a dedicated circuit for that period is slow and often requires a long commitment.

Flex on an existing port

With a Virtual Connectivity Hub, you can raise bandwidth on a virtual circuit for the duration of the project and reduce it afterwards. If you need a new destination, you add a circuit instead of a cable.

Example: cloud migration

  1. Create a virtual circuit from your data center port to the cloud on-ramp.
  2. Increase bandwidth for the bulk data transfer.
  3. Run replication and testing over the private path.
  4. Cut over.
  5. Reduce the circuit to steady-state needs.

Example: a launch weekend

Boost capacity to your CDN or cloud origin for the launch, monitor closely, and scale back on Monday.

Why it lowers risk

Because changes are fast, you can test early, rehearse cutovers and roll back if needed — without waiting on physical work.
